FOUND SHOT.
sad fatality near huntly. WELL-KNOWN IN HAMILTON. A sad fatality occurred at Pepepepe, near Huntly, yesterday. Mr Herbert Horatio (Bert) Lyon, a single man aged 48, who managed a farm for Messrs Pratt and Maxwell, of Hamilton, went out rabbit shooting yesterday afternoon. As he did not return his workmate with whom he bached, went out in search of him and found, his dead body lying beside a stream on the property. It would appear that he knelt down to drink from the stream and that somehow the gun went off. 1 An inquest will be held to-day. Mr Lyon is well known in Hamilton. Ho Was a brother-in-law to Mr E. L. Watkins of this town and was a man who was very popular and held in the highest respect
