PATERANGI.
Enjoyable Dance. A dance promoted by the young people's dance committee was' held in the Hall. Visitors were present from Te Awamutu, Mangapiko and Lake View. The Kit-Kat orchestra was in attendance and the duties of M.C.. were efficiently carried out by Mr G. Finch. There was just a sufficient number present to render dancing a pleasure, and a very enjoyable time was spent. School Notes. The Ngahinapouri School team visited Paterangi on Wednesday afternoon to engage in tennis with Patering!. A good, close game resulted .in favour of Paterangi by 53 games to Si, the Bets being even at G ah. The Nganinepouri teacher, Mr Fletcher, thanked Mrs Benton and the local school girls for the very nice I afternoon tea provided for the visitors, j The school children are eagerly I looking .forward to the fancy dress! idance and concert to. be held nextj Tuesday night to celebrate the wind- • ing up of the school year. The W&athe? and' Harvesting. ! The weather during the past week has been a complete contrast to that experienced at this time last year, when the country and stock were suffering from the effects of a drought. Although there is quite a lot of hay lying out, and harvesting operations generally are being held up, the farmers are so glad of the rain that no complaints have been heard about I the hay. i I
