WAJPU CALEDONIAN SOCIETY.
HIGHLAND GATHERING AND GAMES
The 58 th annual Highland gathering and ' games of the Waipu Caledonian Socielv will be held on January 1 in the Caledonian Park at Waipu. This northern fixture stands high in the estimation of athletes, pipers and dancers -and the public. A programme for the framing gathering is an extensive one, covering althetic events, pipe music and dancing and youths' games. Competitors and visitors may reach the scene by train from Auckland to Maungaturoto and from there by car or by steamer via Whangarei and conclude the itrip by bus. Nominations will be received until December 24, and acceptances will be taken until 11 a.m. on the day of the games. Mr John N. I. McKay, Waipu, is. secretary, and Mr Don. N. McKay, 4 Wyndham Street, the assistantsecretary.
