RAPINE. Some time back Rapine was turned out, and his trainer, J. H. Jofferd said he would not be persevered with. Apparently, however, circumstances have arisen oauslng a change of plans, for it is reported from Hastings that the Martian gelding is not only In constant work and standing up to his preparation in a most hopeful manner, but is going exceptionally well, and on present Indications has every prospect of winning another Important race. Rapine Is nine years old, so that It Is reasonable to expect that he will never reach his former high standard again on the race track.
