GIFT PARTY.
-& IN HONOUR OF BRIDE-TO-BE. A jolly Blue "Gift" afternoon was given by Mrs R. Gillard and Miss H. Ryburn at "Pinegroves," the residence of Mrs E. S. Ryburn, at Ngahinapouri, on Wednesday. The guest of honour was Miss Renie Sanders, who is about to be married. Mrs R. Gillard wore a pretty pink crepe de chine frock and Miss Ryburn wore an embroidered apricot dress. Miss Sanders was in floral silk, bordered with blue. Interesting guessing competitions passed away the time very pleasantly, and tennis was also in evidence. The winners of the different competitions were:—Mrs N. Reid, Miss D. Vowless and Miss D. Thomas. A delectable afternoon tea was served prior to the opening of the parcels. This interesting feature displayed a variety of pretty blue articles. Miss Zanders expressed her thanks and appreciation to her hostess for the pleasant afternoon, and all present for the gifts.
