New Methodist Church.

The opening ceremony of the new Methodist Church took place last week. There was a good attendance of all denominations. The Rev. Mr Sage, of Morrinsville, presided, and addresses were given by the Revs. Elliot (Auckland), Anderson (Te Aroha), Rurlcy (Thames), and Erown (Matamata). ing for the purpose of bidding them good-bye in a fitting manner. Mr Fausett and family have taken a large share in the affairs of the Methodist Church, especially the erection of the new building. Mrs Fausett has been a teacher of the Sunday school during the whole time of her residence here, and Miso Iris Fausett has acted as organist to the church for some time. On this occasion the family received from the Methodist Church people and others a presentation which took the form of a handsome jardiniere. Mrs Fausett also received from the local , ladies of the Methodist Church Guild and friends a very nice pewter rosebowl, a seven-piece china and goldlined salad set, cup, saucer and plate to match. Mrs Fausett received from the Sunday school children and teachers a morocco-bound Bible and a brush and comb, together with a letter of appreciation from the Ladies' Guild. In recognition of her services as organist Miss Iris Fausett received a nice book presented by the Rev. Mr Brown, 'of Matamata, who presided at the gathering. Eulogistic speeches were made by the Rev. Mr Brown and Messrs A. Adams and B. Nicholls, Mr Fausett suitably responding. Songs were rendered by Messrs Lane and Brown, and Mr Adamj gave a recitation. After the presentation the company partook of refreshments supplied by the ladies.
