WELLINGTON, Friday. , The proprietor of a clothing manufacturing business, Alexander von Batenburg, was to-day fined £lO, with,; costs, on a charge of having sent an indecent document through the post., He had advertised for a staff, and in replying to a married woman who had applied he had used the word brothel. The excuse that accused had had trouble by inexperienced people applying to him for positions and work being spoiled did not prevent the magistrate from taking the view that defendant had any other desire beyond being insulting.
