FINGER-PRINT EVIDENCE.

PALMERSTON N., Friday

A charge of breaking and entering the premises of James Clarke Christie, tobacconist, in Rangitikei Street, and stealing therefrom a safe containing cash and cheques of a total value of £67, was preferred against James Morton McGill, alias John McGill, alias Pat McGill, in the Police Court this morning.

Accused, who is 26 years of age, was described as a labourer and canvasser.

Lengthy evidence is being heard, and the case is expected to last well into the afternoon. Finger-print evidence, on which the case is said to hinge, will be called.
