It has been ascertained that Mr Charles Dunn, aged 87, Kingsland, Auckland, who was reported missing from his home, had journeyed to Cambridge, and is perfectly well.

John P. Porter, contractor, of Te Mata, in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court this morning was ordered to pay costs £1 for using his lorry without a heavy traffic license.

In order to provioe for the future development of Sacred Heart College, Auckland, a property of 96 acres at Stokes Point, Northcote, has been secured by the governing authorities as the site for a new institution.

In response to a request by Mr F. From a distance of feet to the light, one could walk and observe the lamps without feeling any effects of dazzle or inconvenience in any way.

At a meeting of the council of the Auckland Acclimatisation Society, Mr C. A. Whitney reported lie had received a'consignment of South Island fresh-water snails for trial at Arapuni, which, if distributed along the banks, he thought would provide a superabundance of food. In the meantime they were to be placed in a small stream for observation. The chairman said the recent shipment of partridge had been unfortunate. They had lost fully a-third of the consignment, and it had been a very expensive shipment.

The working bee. of the Frank ton Ratepayers and Citizens' Association will commence work on the formation of the Killarney Road beach at the Lake on Saturday afternoon. Complete arrangements have been made by the Association, and with the assistance of workmen in the employ of the Domain Board it is hoped that the beach will lie available for the use of the public during the present swimming season. Afternoon lea will be provided by a ladies' committee.
