CHURCH OF CHRIST.
CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING. There was a large attendance at the Church of Christ, last evening, for prize-giving. Over JOO scholars sat down to an excellent tea, and thoroughly enjoyed themselves, later participating in the concert. The children sang their songs delightfully, and the primary department scholars rendered very prettily, "Nursery Rhymes." Items were also given by Marjory Findlay, Jean Nicholls, Gwenda Pollard, Joyce Polglaise, Daisy Welch, Gwen Ken Robinson, Desmond Rick, Bobbie Pearson, Jimmy Butt, Ellis Glover, Jack Rivett and Norman Polglalse. Pastor Salisbury, in distributing a large number of prizes, congratulated the children, and expressed thanks to the superintendents, teachers and bible-class leaders for the splendid work they had done during the year, which had brought the school up to a very high standard of efficiency. It was stated that enlargements were almost completed, which would give an entirely new primary department accommodation and two extra class rooms. Four children qualified for the special "Brook" prize, which is awarded only to those who put in a perfect attendance. Special thanks were accorded to the orchestra, Mrs T Pearson and Mr H. R. Thompson, song leaders, Mrs Robinson, organist, and -Mrs A. Hood, pianist.
