NGARUAWAHIA BOROUGH.

MEETING OF COUNCIL. At the ordinary meeting of the Ngaruawahia Borough Council the Mayor, Mr H. J. Sampson,-, presided. Messrs A. Sutherland, B. A. Smith and J. J. Cavanagh waited on the council on behalf "of the Ngaruawahia Racing Club, requesting the council to erect permanent buildings on the racecourse for the accommodation of officials and jockeys during a meetingl Mr Sutherland explained that the club uses tents, which are expensive to hire and troublesome to erect. Now that the club is in funds it is prepared to subsidise the cost of a building by £i for £l, or to pay interest and sinkins fund on costIt was resolved to erect the building, the club to pay half cost of same. It was reported that the motor truck for the Are brigade had been ordered, and that the truck would arrive by the flrst shipment. It was resolved to forward to the clergvmen' in the town copies of a circular" from the Prime Minister re the observance of two minutes' silence on Armistice Day.
