BRIDGE PARTIES.

AT YE AWAMUTU. An enjoyable bridge party was given at the home of Miss Mabel Jones on Tuesday afternoon, in honour of Miss Babs Walters, who is shortly to be married. The room was prettily decorated in shaded Iceland poppies. After a delirious afternoon tea Miss Jones asked the guest of honour to accept a crystal vase and set of fireirons with the best wishes of those present. Miss Focke won the bridge with the highest score and Mrs Oliphant received the consolation prize. Those present were: Mesdames Oliphant, Teasdale, Ashmore and Reese, and Misses J. Elliott, L. Focke, E. and A. Montefiore, M. Quin, E. Peake, M. Storey, M. Civil and EChittenden. AT LYCEUM CLUB. A very jolly party was gtven last night in the card room of the Lyceum Club by Mrs A. Gifford in honour of her daughter-in-law, Mrs Norman Collins, who has come to live in Hamilton. Mrs Gifford received the guests wearing Nile-green shot taffeta, Mrs Collins wearing briar rose shot taffeta. Some good games were played, the prize going to Miss Ailsa Wilson. A delicious supper was served, and the party broke up after a very enjoyable time being spent by all. Those present were:—Miss K. Wilson, Miss A. Wilson, Miss E. Simmons, Miss N. Monckton, Miss B. Vickery. Miss T. Monckton, Miss R. Vickery, Miss B. Manning, Miss C Chitty, Miss M. Chadwick, Miss A. Coventry, Miss E. Ward, Miss K. Cowie and Miss F. Peacocke.
