BOWLING AND CROQUET,

FRANKTON CLUB. The official opening of the Frank- i ton Bowling and Croquet Clubs took place last Saturday afternoon. Bain fell iery heavily during the morning, | but cleared up nicely in the afternoon. Mr F. Baker, president of the Bowl- j ing Club, in a happy little speech, wel- j corned the visitors, and arter the | usual speeches had be-en made called j on Mrs Baker to bowl up the first i kitty and Mrs Buckland to croquet the ! first hoop. As the lawns were too j wet for play, an adjournment was made j to the pavilion, where bridge and 500 passed a" pleasant afternoon. Mrs F. Baker won the first prize for bridge | ' and Mrs T. B.
