I was asked by the management of the store to write a description of happenings that take place on Special Sale Days and to tell the public of some of the very remarkable values throughout the store. When two or three hundred people are at the door of any store waiting to be admitted, it means just one thing; that exceptional merchandise offerings are being given. The public has an infallible sense of values. It knows merchandise and prices; it knows when a store is making a sincere effort to do something unusual, and it responds accordingly. Money is hard to make —and easy to spend; hardly any of us have enough. A saving on anything is always welcome. If 1 can buy a suit for 32/6 that usually costs 52/6, I feel happy over it because I have one pound left for something else I need. This is true of nearly every one of us.
