IS IT SEEMLY?
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The Right Hon. J. G. Coates, P.C.,-Prime Minister of IS'cw Zealand, prior to the Tunney-Ileeney prize-fight sent a cablegram to Heeney wishing him 1 luck and success. That was a bitter pill for some New Zealanders, not all of whom arc admirers of what can at best be characterised as brutal exhibitions. Now it is announced that at a reception to be accorded Ilceney during the next few days the Right Hon. J. G. Coates, P.C., Prime Minister of New Zealand, will preside, and an invitation has been extended to ail members of the Legislature to be present. Is it seemly that such deference should be shown to a pugilist? No higher honour could be accorded men who accomplished things worth while —I am, etc., DIGNITY.
