The takings at the gates at the football match at Morrinsville on Saturday, when the Peace Cup match between Morrinsville (holders and Thames (challengers) was played, amounted to £ll6, a record for the ground. As children, players, and officials were admitted free, and the juvenile clement was largely represented, £llO would represent an attendance of some 3000. The new grandstand was not half large enough to accommodate the crowd who applied for admission.
