Hawkins, “Glencoe.” * * * * Miss Marie Hawke and Miss Muriel Hawke, of Hamilton, left to-day for a holiday at Takapuna. * * * * Mrs Macky, of Hamilton, has been ■visiting Wanganui. * » * » Mrs C. H. Blundell, of Tasmania, who has been staying in Hamilton, left to-day for New Plymouth. Mesdames P. G. White and T. Casey (Auckland) have been staying at the Hamilton Hotel. * * * • Mrs C. Pollard and Mrs K. Eade, who went to Auckland to bid farewell to their sister, Miss L. Pearson, returned to Hamilton on Saturday. Miss Pearson sailed for Sydney by the Uiimaroa on Friday. * * * * After an absence of many years from the Dominion, Lady Myers returned to Auckland yesterday by the Aorangi for a holiday, accompanied by members of her family. • * * » One of New Zealand’s keen fisherwomen, Mrs Ruby Watson, of the Auckland district, is taking an active part in the efforts to free Hauraki Gulf from seine-net Ashing, which, many assert, is seriously depleting the. Ash and encouraging sharks to come further inshore for food. Mrs Watson, who is a member of a Ashermen’s union, a politician and a writer, belongs to -the Auckland Penwomen’s Club.
