WHAT IS BEING WORN. Ever striving for novelty, Paris gone back a generation or two, and has revived many of the jewellery designs and treatments to recreate stunning costume jewellery. Heirlooms may safely appear with the newest dresses, for they are listed among to-day’s modern accessories. The quaint gold pieces that have lain hidden in drawers may be taken out and worn with distinction—and if there is a lack of the quaint old pieces they may be readily bought ia the smart shops. The old-time slide jewellery is at the height of the mode. The wide hand slide bracelets that our grandmothers and great-grandmothers wore done in engraved gold are today’s chic ornaments. Chain links, gold tassels, and engraved slides are all features of to-day’s craze for oidl'ashioued golden accessories. The vogue for paste jewellery continues, and all sorts of necklaces, with matching bracelets and pins, are seen. The Chanel type of necklace in brilliant crystal is particularly effective with braceiets worn to match. Scini-precious stones are again much in evidence. Carnelian, beautifully carved, is worn in bracelets and ia necklaces. Jade In all its shades is decidedly attractive for the semiformal hours. The enamelled, ornaments are seen along with the oldfashioned gold jewellery. Alice White, the First National film star, possesses a charming collection of the gold, as well as the new type, paste and semi-precious jewellery so much in vogue.
