CLAY BIRD SHOOTING.

HAMILTON GUN CLUB. A REPRESENTATIVE GATHERING. The popularity of th 6 clay bird shooting held under the auspices of the Hamilton Gun Club was evinced on Saturday, when a representative gathering of shootisls from Morrinsville, Te Awamutu, Cambridge, and Hamilton established a record for the club. The big shoot of the day drew an entry of sixteen candidates. Mr 11. Earle was successful in annexing the trophy, shooting the possible (ten birds). This Hamilton representative shot consistently throughout the day, and was runner-up in the next event. Following were the results of the ,various shoots: — First Shoot, of six birds (11 entries).- —W. Ait ken and W. J. .\lcMikcn, tied with the -possible. Second Shoot, of seven birds (15 entries). —W. .1. Me.Miken and W. Woolven, tied with the possible. Third Shoot, of ten birds, for trophy presented by Mr F. It. Seddon.—Mr 11. Earle won with the possible. Fourth Shoot, of six birds.—Mr W. J. Me.Miken won with the possible. In the shoot-olf for second place Mr 11. Earle was successful. Fifth Shoot, of six birds.—Eight shoolists tied, with five birds each, the shoot-off being won by Mr W. R. Smith, Mr W.-J. McMikeu Ailing second place.
