CATTLE DISEASES.
EXPERIMENTS IN WAIKATO. GATHERING INFORMATION. HOPEFUL OF RESULTS. While in Hamilton during the week-end, Dr. C. J. Reakes, Director of Agriculture, conferred, with the local officers of the Agricultural Department concerning matters generally affecting the Department, and he also had some discussion with Mr C V. Dayus, Government Veterinary officer, regarding the special investigations he has been undertaking in connection with troublesome dairycow diseases, such as sterility, abortion and mammitis. Although, he said, it was too much to expect quick results, he was very hopeful that the work being undertaken would materially increase the Department's knowledge of how best to deal with these troubles, particularly from a preventative point.
