YESTERDAY'S BUSINESS.

SEVERAL REPORTS PRESENTEDc IMPREST SUPPLY BILL DEBATE. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Friday. The presentation of three important reports was the feature of the proceedings in the House of Representatives to-day. The first of these, which dealt with the findings of the commission which inquired into Auckland's transport problems, also reported on the operation of the Motor Omnibus Act, 1926. Thirteen recommendations were contained in the second document, the report of the committee which inquired into the prevention and. treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis in New Zealand. The chief suggestion was the establishment of a special division in the Health Department to co-ordinate the existing efforts being made to combat the disease. In the third report, produced as the outcome of the tour abroad of the chief telegraph engineer, Mr. A. Gibb, references were made to telegraph and telephone engineering development in Europe and'America. New Zealand's telephonic installation was stated to compare more than, favourably with the systems examined in other countries. Several departmental reports of a minor nature were also tabled during the afternoon. The Auctioneers Bill has been read a second time and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. In the evening the House debated the Imprest Supply Bill (No. 2).
