Dr. L. C. McNickle, M. 8., Ch.B., of the Porirua Mental Hospital, has been appointed medical registrar to the Wellington Hospital with a commencing salary of £SOO a year.
Messrs James Brenil Vowles, of Te Mala, and Ameilus Bcauclerk Fyers, of Rangiriri, are Gazetted as rangers to the Auckland Acclimatisation Society.
Messrs D. T. Leighton (Henberron), C. Barton (Ngaiiape), J. Legget (New Plymouth), J. N. Anderson (Hawera), J.'Doran (Wellington), V. J. Humphreys, A. Williamson, L. McLoughlein, W. J. Thomson, P. Goulding, W. L. Robinson, A. McLean (Auckland), and A. J. Cross (Te Kowhai) arc at the Hamilton Hotel.
There was a slight improvement in the condition of Bishop Cleary yesterday, but his medical adviser has prohibited him from seeing visitors for a few days. Father Cyril Martindale, of London, who was with Bishop Cleary when the motor accident occurred near Hamilton East on Sunday, is also progressing satisfactorily, but is unable to receive visitors.
Mr W. W. Putlon, of Wellington, has been admitted as a member of the Order of St. John for devoted service to the ambulance department and its subsidiary Red Cross branch. Mr button is widely known for his gratuitous service to the sporting community.
