JOCKEYS' PREMIERSHIP. A CLOSE CONTEST.' , New Zealand's leading horsemen, I. Green and R. Reed, have been having a very interesting tussle for the jockeys' premiership of the season, and whoever attains the honour is likely to have a very small margin. When Green steered Beau Geste to victory at Timaru last week he ■brought his tally of wins for the season to 74, which left him with a lead of two over Reed. With only two days' racing remaining on the calendar for the season Green seemed assured of the honour, but Reed won on Dishonoured at Gisborne and now he is only one behind. Green and Reed will have several mounts each at Gisborne to-day, and the outcome of their riding on the final day of the season will be awaited with considerable interest. RIDER DISLOCATES NECK.
