PETER PAN'S LETTER.

Dear Girls and Boys,— Here Is another competition this week—the last painting competition was so well done and so many were sent in that Peter Pan has given another painting one this week and hopes that it will be as great a success as the last. Here are holidays over again once more—don't the weeks seem to fly when one is enjoying oneself? And the winter term is always so cold —Peter shivers When he thinks of all his Circle members trudging through the rain or frost to school. ,What excitement—the Show Is right near, now! Only next Tuesday and the fun will begin—what a week It will be—you will all have to write and tell us of your happy experiences at It. We have our Guide Column at last—but what a baby It is! All our Circle must do their best to make It grow and become an interesting part of our Page. Have any of you seen a paper being made? The news comes In by our correspondents from all over the Walkato and goes through the "newsroom." There, machines called Linotypes set It up and from there It goes to the stereo room where It is moulded ready to place on the rollers in the huge printing machine. The printing of the paper is the most fascinating of all. The mashlne Is enormous and on one end are huge rolls of paper threading through the machine till they reach the further end and come out, printed, cut, stuck and folded ready for distribution. This description is very rough, but it may help to show the lot of work which goes to make a newspaper and Incidentally our Page. Peter Pan Invites ail the members who can and who would like to, to come to the Times Office any day at 11.45 a.m. or 3.46 in the afternoon to be shown over the works. If any of you are Interested in how the paper is printed, Peter will see that you are shown everything and have It explained to you by one who knows all about it. We hope that lots of you will be interested and will come along. Good-bye for this week.
