APPLES FOR S. AMERICA.

SHIPMENT OF DOMINION FRUIT.

DESPATCHED FROM LONDON. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright.) (Australian Press Association.) (Received May 26, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 25. lAn interesting development is the exportation irom London this week of Q 558 boxes of New Zealand apples to Brazil. It is understood the Union Cold Storage Company has purchased diem at current market prices, and has shipped 4000 cases to Santoa and 2556 to Rio de Janiero by the Blue Star liner Avila. • Before the Panama Canal opened ojirect shipments used to be made to South America from New Zealand, and the apples always realised excellent prices. If the present shipment is equally successful others may follow, *> the meat-carrying steamers returning to Argentine offer an abundance of refrigerated space. Traders here would Welcome further exports to Sputh America, as they would relieve Che congestion in England. The Argyleshire's New Zealand apples are quoted as under:—Dunn's aid Delicious, Us to 12s; Lord Wolsjueys, 10s 6d to lis; Jonathans, 10s Id to 12s.
