JERSEY CATTLE.

NATIONAL SHOW AND SALE. THREE DAYS’ FIXTURE. As a result of the great success which has attended the annual national Jersey shows and sales inaugurated some six years ago by Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., it is announced that this year’s fixture, which is again to he -held at Claudeiands, is to be extended to cover three days— Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, September 18, 19, and 20. This will enable more time to be devoted to the sale of females, and in this connection a special feature is to be made of yearling heifers. Females in calf accepted for this sale will be guaranteed stock only. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd., will again offer the Wright, Stephenson Cup for the grand champion animal, of the show.

On the second day an innovation will be introduced, as on the morning of that day’s sale judging of group classes will be conducted. These groups will be comprised of one yearling bull and three yearling heifers, all the property of one owner. Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., will also donate a silver cup to the owner of the champion group. This is a class which is very popular at the big show sales in England, and will undoubtedly arouse great interest in New Zealand.
