CONSPIRACY IN ALSACE.
AUTONOMISTS SENTENCED. PSYCHOLOGY OF WAR. PREVENTS FRIENDLY RELATIONS. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.' (Times Gables.) (Received May 25, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 24. The Times’ Paris correspondent states that the four, leaders of the Alsatian Autonomist Party have N been convicted of conspiracy against the State, and sentenced to a year’s imprisonment and five years’ banishment from Alsace. They are: Recklin, Rosse (recently elected to the Chamber of Deputies at the general election); Schallable, and Fasschauer. Eighteen others were acquitted. Accused’s counsel pleaded for the abolition of war, the psychology of which prevented friendly international understanding.
