HAMBURG EXPLOSION.
STOCKS OF PHOSGENE GAS. TO BE DESTROYED. INQUIRY INTO THE DISASTER. (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Times Cables.) (Received May 25, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 24. The Times Berlin correspondent reports that experts have decided that the remaining stocks of phosgene must be destroyed by caustic soda and ammonia. The Minister of Economic Affairs, at/ to-day’s Cabinet meeting, stated the gas was not intended for military purposes. A departmental expert had gone to Hamburg to conduct an inquiry into the actual origin of the gas.
