GOODS BY RIVER.
trade with the south. A SAVING OF TIME. The S.s. Progress loaded at Dunedin on Wednesday, May 16, calling et Timaru, Lyttelton and New Plymouth, the goods arriving in Hamilton per river steamer yesterday. The Wingatui loaded at Dunedin on Thursday last and is not due at Auckland until Sunday. This shows a saving of time of about three days coming by S.s. Progress compared with boats coming to Auckland, and just on a week by the time the goods arrive in Hamilton.
