USEFUL HINTS.
TO PRESERVE TAFFETA. Taffeta is a very inexpensive material, and can be made, to last for a very long time and to stand exceedingly hard wear. Take the piece of material and dip it in a tub of cold water. Hang it over the line to drip for a little while, and when nearly dry iron it with a moderately hot iron—not a very hot one. You will find that even in the tropics the material will not split, as it is likely to do if not treated in this way. Many people will say that they don’t w'ant to take this method of prolonging the life of taffeta because it spoils the very cricp appearance that is half its charm, but that is not so. The material will not be quite so crisp, but the difference is scarcely perceptible, and it is such a relief to know that you can. have a taffeta frock w'ith no fear that you will hear it tear when you are looking and feeling your best.
