WATER CURE TRIED IN GERMANY. TRAPS IN PARK. Water traps for “Peeping Toms” in the Scholzplatz, one of Charlottenburg’s public parks, have been devised by the authorities in an attempt to end the nuisance. The park is much favoured by sweethearts because of its romantic corners and nooks. However, recently the authorities found that persons were trampling down the young shrubs in efforts to spy on the lovers or to overhear their conversations. Drastic means were devised to catch the “Peeping Toms” Holes were dug behind the bushes from which a view might be had of the nearest nook where lovers would be likely to sit. Undeterred. In the holes large casks full of water were placed in such fashion as to be completely concealed. * Many of the traps were “sprung” night after night, and evidence was clear that the “Peeping Toms” had received good duckings. However, the authorities have not. succeeded In putting down the nuisance, and complaints are still beard from romantic couples. PILES—OPERATION AVOIDED.
