OFFENCE TOO COMMON. TWO YOUTHS SENT TO PRISON. (By Telegraph—Press Association). PALMERSTON N., Wednesday. Henry William Gardner Meich and Colin Charles fMcAsey, both 20 years of age, were charged before Mr Stout, S.M., with unlawfully converting to their bwn use a motor-car. They pleaded guilty. The police stated the car was taken from the Square here and was later recovered at Ilawera. Each lad was sentenced to three months’ hard' labour. The Magistrate remarked that this class of offence was on the increase and even the maximum punishment was apparently unable to stop it.
