WEDDINGS.

FALLA—BURTON. A popular wedding took place at Te Aroha at St. Mark's Church, when Elayne, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs A. F. Burton, was married to Robert Falla, eldest son of Mr and Mrs G. Falla, Calliope Road, Devonport. Rev. R. L. Connolly officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory satin and silver lace over pale pink. Her embroidered tulle veil, which formed a train, was held in place by a cirolet of orange blossom, and she carried a bouquet of white and palo pink roses. Mrs Law, her sister, attended as matron of honour, and wore a frock of shell pink georgette, with diamante trimming and petal skfrt. Her hat was ot green georgette and pink roses. Miss N. Falla, sister of the bridegroom, was also in attendance.

PARLOUR—JOHNSON. An evening wedding was celebrated in St. David's Presbyterian Church, Te Aroha, recently, when Miss Marjorie Johnson, fourth daughter of Mr and Mrs J. B. Johnson, of Te Aroha, was married to William John Parlour, elder son of Mr and Mrs S. C. Parlour, of Daflon, Morrinsville. Rev. Haslop officiated. The bride wore a frock of white georgette beaded and made with scalloped effects. Her lace veil, wb.ich formed a train, was held in place by a coronet of orange blossoms, and shj carried a bouquet of-.white roses chrysanthemums, and pale pink stock. Her attendants were Miss Lily Johnson, sister of the bride, and Miss Lily Parlour, sister of the bridegroom. They wore frocks of turquoise blue crepe de chine with tight bodices and full panniered skirts, with vandyked hems of maize colour. Each wore a gold headband finished with tulle, and carried bouquets of chrysanthemums and roses. The bride was given away by b-.r father. Mr Tom Parlour was best man and Mr Allan Feisst groomsman.

LAUGHTON—SUTTON.

| A wedding of much local interest took place at St. Paul's Church, Te Uku, at 6 p.m. on May 2, when \licc, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Sut'ton, of Waitentuna, was married to Mr James Laughton, of Raglan. Rev. G. Young, of Raglan, was the officiating minister. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a dainty dress of embossed satin trimmed with orange blossoms. Shu wore a lovely embroidered veil with a bandeau of orange blossoms. Her bouquet was of roses, chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, and she was attended, as bridesmaid, by her sister Myrtle, who wore coral pink crepe de chine wjth touches of gold, and carried a bouquet of pink chrysanthemums and maidenhair fern, with pink streamers. Two little flower girls, Kathleen and Mona Nicholson, wore dainty pink net frocks trimmed with forget-me-nots, worn over shell pink. They wore pink and silver bandeaux, and earned pink posies. The bridegroom's present to the bride was a gold expanding wristlet watch, to the bridesmaid he gave a gold watch, and chased silver bangles to the flower girls. The church had been prettily decorated by girl friends of the bride. After the ceremony about forty guests were entertained by Mr and Mrs Sutton at their residence, when the usual toasts were honoured, the bride and bridegroom being seated under a handsome wedding bell. Later in the evening a dance was held at the Memorial Hall, .where about 150 guests .enjoyed a very pleasant evening spent in dancing and playing cards, A very dainty supper was served. During the evening Mr and Mrs Laughton received the congratulations of their friends, and then left for their honeymoon, which was spent at Rotorua. The wedding presents were numerous, and costly and included several cheques.
