DAMAGES AWARDED.

MOTOR CAR COLLISION. AUCKLAND, Tuesday. The responsibility for a collision between two motor cars in the Great North Road, .at the Beaconsfield Street intersection, early in the evening of September 18 last, was argued in the Supreme Court yesterday, before Mr Justice MacGregor and a jury of four. The case was one in which Alfred Herman Gyllics, an accountant, of Auckland, claimed £199 2s 7d from Boucher Hill, a clerk, of Grey Lynn, and the defendant counterclaimed for £199 10s sd.

After a retirement of 35 minutes the jury returned with a verdict in favour of the plaintiff, and assessed the damages at £133. They expressed the opinion that Hill had been negligent in that he had the last opportunity to avoid the accident.
