The Minister of Health, Hon. .1. A. Young, visited the Waitakere Ranges yesterday and examined the Auckland water-supply w'orks.

Mr R. C. Aston was elected president of the Board of Governors of the New Zealand Institute at a special .meeting of the board held in Wellington this morning. The vacancy was caused by the death of the late Dr. J. A. Thomson.
