At a meeting of the United Party last evening Mrs T. E. Taylor was selected as a candidate for the Christchurch North seat and Mr W. T. Lester as candidate for Lyttelton at the forthcoming general elections.

A meeting of delegat j representing the interests of the Country Party was held here to-day. It was decided to put a candidate in the field to contest the Tauranga seat at the general election, and an executive was appointed. Messrs 11. J. Gill and 0. A. McPhie were appointed to represent this district at the conference, to be held at Hamilton next week.
