UNDISCHARGED BANKRUPT
ONEHUNGA AGENT CHARGED. COMMITTED FOR TRIAL. Finlay John McLean, agent, of Onehunga, ' appeared in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court yesterday lo answer three charges id' obtaining credit at Te Kuili last year while an undischarged bankrupt. The accumulated debts totalled £l6l Bs. Messrs W. V. Mason and Franklin, J.'s.l'.. were on the Bench. Edith Hal ford, a widow, proprietress of a hotel at Te Kuili. said McLean stayed at her establishment during July. August and September, 19:27. Albert Edward Poole and Henry Burgos Luxford, giving evidence, said McLean had given them no indication lhat he was an undischarged bankrupt. Mervyn Simmonds, deputy-registrar of Hamilton, said the order of adjudication was made out against Ale Lean in 1912.
Defendant, pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was fixed at £IOO.
