SHIPS' COOKS' DISPUTE. | i WARNING BY THE COURT. AWARD MAY BE CANCELLED. (United Pr<-ps Association.^ MELBOURNE, April 20. Chief Justice Dethridge, of the Arbitration Court, to-day warned the members of the Marine Cooks' Union that if they continued to resort, to direct action he would consider suspending or setting aside their award. He had no doubt that the union was adopting direct action tactics in holding up the Ulimaroa and other vessels recently.
His Honour agreed to provide for the insertion of a clause in the award prohibiting the members of the union from participating in strikes. The owners' application to set aside the award was adjourned for one week.
