ADMINISTRATOR OF SAMOA
DEPARTURE FROM AUCKLAND AUCKLAND, Saturday. Mr S. S. Allen will leave Auckland by the Toi'ua this morning to take up the position of Administrator of Samoa in succession to Sir George Kichardson, whose term was recently completed. Mr Allen will be accompanied by Mrs Allen.
Mr Allen was the guest of 'the .Northern Club at dinner last evening.
THE NEW ADMINISTRATOR. MASONIC FAREWELL. The presentation of Regalia in connection with Grand Lodge work was made to Mr S. S. Allen at the Morrinsville Masonic Lodge meeting. There was a large and reprcsentaitve gathering of Masons from provincial lodges, and a representative of the Dominion Lodge was also present. The usual toasts were honoured, that of the guest of the evening being the principal one. All the speakers referred in very complimentary terms to the work done by Brother Allen for the good of the craft generally, and expressed themselves as sure that he would he. successful in his new position as Administrator of Samoa.
Mr Allen, Tn reply, thanked the Brethren for the presentation and their kind remarks, lie was sorry to leave Morrinsville. As they were all aware the condition of affairs in Samoa was not satisfactory, llu would iry his bust to restore order.
