Mr Justice Fraser is at the Hamilton Hotel. Mr W. Lunn, of Napier, is visiting Hamilton.

Mr Norman Heath, of Auckland, has been appointed Consul in New Zealand for the Republic of Latvia.

Admiral Sir James Fergusson, brother of the Governor-General, will leave for England by the Remuera next Saturday.

Mr E. N. Hogben, of the Auckland Grammar School, has been appointed to the staff of the Dannevirke High School.

Mr Alfred Peckham, of Mercer, has been appointed ranger for the Auckland Acclimatisation district under the Animals Protection Act.

A presentation to Mr E. R. Greenfield, manager of the Regent Theatre, Auckland, who has severed his connection with the theatre and with J. G. Williamson, Ltd., was made on Thursday evening. Mr Maurice Guttridge, on behalf of the staff, expressed their regret at Mr Greenfield's departure, and presented him with a gold watcli and chain, and an engraved fob.
