TAUPIRI.
Plunket Meeting. The Taupiri branch of the Plunket Society held a special meeting to consider inaugurating a scheme to provide the district Nurse with a motor car. The meeting was very enthusiastic, and it. was unanimously decided “That it be recommended, to all branches of the Society that the time has come when a motor car should be provided l'or the Plunket Nurse, and all present pledged themselves to do all in Lheir power to further the movement.’’ It was decided.also to make a house to house canvass in Taupiri for the funds of this branch. School Committee. The Anal meeting of the old committee was held on Thursday, when a full attendance was*-recorded. There was not a great deal of business to be done. The secretary reported that there was a balance of £l9 to be expended on school improvements and that nearly £2OO ihad been spent, around the grounds in the past year. The chairman expressed his appreciation to the committee for the way in which it had cO-operated with him, ’n carrying out the duties.
