TECHNICAL OLD GIRLS.

ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Technical Old Girls' Club on Thursday evening, there was a good attendance of members. Mrs W. Fraser presided. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mrs Walsh; president, Mrs W. Fraser; vice-presidents, Mesdames Pemberton and Day, and Miss Noble; secretary, Miss Eileen Rothwell; treasurer, Miss E. Mcintosh; committee, Misses F. Dowd, A. Luxton, A. Bliss, G. Walsh, L. Webster, M. Annette, I. Jones, E. Cunnold.

Mr Fraser thanked the Old Girls for the cup which had been presented to the school last year. The four houses into which the girls had boon divided would compete for it this year. He briefly outlined the improvements to be. effected in the school in the near future. Work would soon be commenced on the new building to be erected on the Anglesea Street frontage, . which would ultimately comprise about. 15 rooms. Fine reproductions of some of the best work of the Italian, French, and English schools of art had been ordered for the school. He offered the use of the lately acquired school gramophone to the club for its meetings.

In a spirit of cheery optimism he spoke of the "Swimming Baths and Hall Fund," for which, so far, one donation has been received. He did not expect that the fuqpl would ever be sufficient to build both baths and a school hall, but should the department ever see fit to provide either, the fund could be utilised for the other.

The question of forming hockey and basket-ball teams was discussed.

It was decided to canvass the members and arrange teams at the next meeting.

Miss Noble's offer to take a class in handwork was enthusiastically accepted. The next meeting of the club on May 3, will take the form of an open social evening.
