ATTEMPTS TUBE ELECTROCUTION

In serious, emphatic words, Mr Bingley, the Marylebonc magistrate, told Kathleen Rac, 20, a housemaid, of Eton Avenue, Ilampstead, "If it hadn't been for'the prompt action of a porter and the driver of the train you would not he here to-day to answer this charge." She confessed that she had tried to electrocute herself on the live rail at Marble Arch Tube station, and was now summoned for altempled suicide by jumping in front of a moving train. Charles fuller, a porter at the station, gave evidence that as a train entered the station at 10.8 the previous night he saw accused step from the platform on to the track.
