HAS AN- UPWARD TENDENCY,
CHEESE MARKET QUIET, (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) ’ AUCKLAND, Friday. Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from London, dated April 19:— Butter. —“Anchor,” 170 s; market active, with an upward tendency. Danish, 173 s f.o.'b. Cheese. —97s to 98s; market quiet. AUCKLAND, Friday. Norden’s London cable of April 19, reads: — Butter. —Upward tendency. Salted, 166 s (after 164), f.o.b.', equivalent to 1/4.lid per lb; unsalted, 166 s to 168 s, equal to 1/5.21d. Market has an upward tendency. , Cheese. —White and coloured, 975, equal to 8.75 d per lb. Market quiet.
MARKET HAS REACHED BOTTOM (By Telegraph.—Special to Times.) AUCKLAND, Friday.
W. W. Bowker has received the following cable dated April 19 from his London principals:— New Zealand butter. —Market firm. Finest 166 s to 168 s; first, 164 s to 1665; finest, 170 sto 1745. We think the market has reached bottom, and there will be an improvement for the next few weeks.
Cheese.- —Steady. Finest, 97s to 98s; first grade, 90s to 975.
