ANNUAL MEETING, MARCH 24. ENTRIES BY MARCH 7, AT 5 P.M. As indicative of its earnest endeavour to cater well for the light harness sport, the Thames Club has announced an attractive programme l'or its annual meeting which will be held at the Parawai racecourse on Saturday, March 24. Mr G. Paul, of Auckland, is the handicapper for this meeting, .while Mr R. T. Reid, of Hamilton, will officiate as starter. The programme for the coming occasion will be introduced by the Hikutaia Handicap of £IOO (one mile and a half), limit 3.43 L This is for horses that have not won at better than 2.20 to the mile at time ot nomination. The Kerepeehi dicap of £lls (two miles) has a a.oO limit, while the Parawai Handicap of £IOO (one mile and a half) is for unhoppled trotting horses only that have not won better than 2.30 to the mi e at time of nomination. The saddle performers will be catered for by he Puriri Handicap of £lls (one mile) with a 2.2 4 limit. The field to line out in the Thames Trotting Gup should be liberal in size and of a grade to provide keen speculation and a line race, event carries a stake of £-100, .which includes a gold cup, presented by Mrs Bert Collins and valued at 100 guineas. O. Brownlee) at his office, Mary Street, Thames, or with Mr R. L. s ° ub ’ secretary, Otahuhu Auckland, on, Wednesday, March 5 pm. Handicaps will appear on oi about Monday, March 12, and acceptances will close at o p.m. on lndaj, March 16.
