Mussolini, interviewed by a French newspaper correspondent, said: “That Franco-Italian friendship would assure the peace of the world. -France and Italy had been made to understand each other. The situation between may sometimes be marked by stormy hours, but the storm will never come to a head, for we are brothers, and love each other as well despite our differences.’’
