CAPTURE OF CHOCOW. BY CHANG TSO-LIN’S FORCES. TOWN SET ON FIRE. (Australian and N.Z. Gable Assn.) (Received October 29, 11.30 a.m.) SHANGHAI, October 28. Japanese advices state lhat Marshal Chang Tso-lin’s forces attacked Gho cow, a large city in the Northern Shansi. They rushed into the walled town, breaking two city gates. They met a stubborn resistance from * ttie Shansi troops, hut after fierce street fighting victory rested with the attackers. Many civilians were killed.
The "defeated troops set fire to Ihe cilty, which is reporlcd lo he -aflame and burning furiously.
