COURSING.
MECHANICAL HARE. SPORT OFFICIALLY RECOGNISED. Last week, in discussing the attitude of the governing bodies in the various States towards the mechanical hare sport, and, after mentioning that the N.SAV.N.C.A. and the N.C.C. of • South Australia had officially recognised same, I alluded to a special meeting of the N.C.C. of Victoria, summoned to discuss the question in - Victoria, writes “Amesbury” in the Sydney Referee. This meeting was duly held in Melbourne, there being a large attendance of delegates. From the report before me, it would appear that a motion to grant official recognition to mechanical hare coursing was unanimously carried by the delegates, the only opponent being the president, Mr A. h. Nase. To' meet the new situation, the constitution and rules were amended. It was provided that the mechanical hare clubs, in fixing dates during the months of June, July, v and August, must submit same to the executive of the N.C.C. for approval.
