PALMERSTON N., Thursday. The final of the Ladies' Golf Championship is being played to-day over 36 holes. The contestants arc Miss E. Culling (Auckland) and Mrs Gollinson (Manawatu). , , At the end of the first 18 holes Mrs Gollinson was 6 up on her opponent Mrs Collinson played a remarkably steady game, while Miss Culling was not up to her usual standard. On the greens the local player was the better, this accounting in a big measure for her lead The first hole was halved, but Miss Culling took the next game, and squared the fourth. Mrs Collinson secured the lead at the sixth hole, and at the turn was three up. Playing a better game, Mrs Collinson increased her advantage, winning the eleventh, -thirteenth, fifteenth and eighteenth holes, the tenth, twelfth, fourteenth and sixteenth being halved, Miss Culling winning only one hole, the seventeenth. Mrs Collinson's score was SO, one over bogey; Miss Culling 89.
