Sarprice Party. Mrs N. Johnstone (married daughter of Mrs Pausett) and Miss Iris Fausett gave their mother a surprise birthday party on September 24. There were about 30 friends present, and a very enjoyable time was spent in instrumental music and song, Mrs Johnstone, Miss Iris Fausett and Mr G. Fausett rendering some very enjoyable items, which were much appreciated. Refreshments were served and the evening concluded with "Auld Lang Syne." Mr and Mrs Fausett showed great appreciation of the evening's entertainment and the attendance of so many friends. Mr Norman Johnstone also took an active part. Cricket Club Formed. A public meeting was held on September 20 for the purpose of considering the formation of a local cricket club. There were about 20 present. Mr A. Adams presided. After considerable discussion it was decided to form a Walton club, and the following officers were elected: Patron, Mr W. McLean; 'president, Mr A. Adams; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Dixon, F. Hirst, J. Shanahan, L. Mapp; captain, Mr N. Johnstone; vice-cap-tain, Mr W. Kuhtz; committee, Messrs J. B. Steele, C. Fausett, P. Dixon; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. A. Guy; selectors, captain, vice-captain, and Mr G. Mathers. It was decided to hold a dance on Tuesday evening. The members' subscriptions are to be 10s Gd.
